Water Activities at The Landings

Summer is here and what better way to take advantage of our unique island lifestyle than to explore the various waterways that surround The Landings. Whether you’re a watersports enthusiast, or just looking for a new way to have some fun in the sun, The Landings can help you to make the most of summertime on Skidaway Island.

Kayaking is one of the most popular ways that residents at The Landings take advantage of our island lifestyle. Residents can set off from our Delegal Creek Marina and instantly become surrounded by seemingly endless natural beauty and majestic native birds and other wildlife. No Kayak? No Worries! The Landings offers a Kayak Rental Program for family and friends to join in on the fun.

Marinas Office Manager Gerry Helmly hopes more residents will try the Kayak Rental Program. “It is perfect if you just want an adventure with your immediate family or if you have relatives coming to visit,” she said. “The waters surrounding The Landings are simply beautiful and make a great treat for someone new to the water or someone who hasn’t been out on the water in a while.”

Currently, Delegal has seven adult-single kayaks and two double kayaks. Due to the popularity of the rentals, residents are encouraged to call Delegal Creek Marina (598-0023) in advance to make certain what they need is available.

The Landings also offers opportunities to take a more leisurely approach to waterfront recreation. Residents can join the Carefree Boat Club to connect with other boating enthusiasts, set sail at dawn with the Rhodes 19 Club, or take a quick boat ride to Wassaw Island for a day on the beach.

After a successful day on the water, make sure to join us at our various marinas for concerts, cookouts, and festivals all summer long. There’s no time like summertime on Skidaway Island, so don’t miss your chance to experience the finest array of waterfront activities in the southeast, at The Landings on Savannah’s Skidaway Island.
