Palmer Cup at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club: Where Legendary Designed Meets Fabled Play

Welcome back to The Palmer Cup, a 36-hole net Stableford team competition held on our historic Marshwood and Magnolia courses, both designed by the late, great professional golfer Arnold Palmer himself. These links don’t just host great golf, they define it.

Founded in 2020, the Landing’s Palmer Cup may be relatively new, but its popularity has skyrocketed like a well-struck tee shot. From humble beginnings to attracting more than 140 members annually, this spirited event has become a signature event on our calendar.

What makes this event even more special? We’re among the elite few properties in the U.S. with two Arnold Palmer-designed courses. When we say, “golf royalty,” we mean it.

Palmer wasn’t just a golf legend; many called him The King of golf. Known for his bold playing style and magnetic personality, Palmer helped transform golf from an elite pastime into a sport embraced by the masses. With 62 PGA Tour wins and seven major championships, he became one of the most decorated and beloved figures in golf history. His rise coincided with the dawn of televised sports, and his charisma drew millions of fans. Beyond the fairways, Palmer was a philanthropist, entrepreneur and cultural icon whose influence extended far beyond the game.

Whether it’s best friends, spouses, siblings, or golfing buddies forged through early tee times and post-round stories, this is a 2-person team event open to men’s, women’s, or mixed pairs who are Landings Golf & Athletic Club Golf members only. So, grab your partner-in-par and prepare to make some unforgettable memories.

Stableford Simplified: Fun Over Frustration

If you’re new to Stableford scoring, here’s the quick pitch: It’s all about earning points based on how well you score against par on each hole. Blow up one? No worries. Shake it off and move on. This scoring system rewards bold play and minimizes heartbreak.

Here’s the basic breakdown:

With net scoring based on handicaps, the playing field gets leveled—whether you’re a seasoned scratch golfer or still working on your pre-shot routine. Your net score reflects your true performance, making this event as inclusive as it is competitive.

A Two-Day Showcase of Skill, Style

Spread across 36 beautifully manicured holes over two days, players will navigate both Marshwood and Magnolia’s challenging terrain, dramatic contours and breathtaking scenery. These aren’t just courses, they’re canvases for creativity and calculation.

Marshwood’s 12th hole is considered the most scenic at The Landings, and on Magnolia, keep an eye out for Palmer’s signature beach bunker on #16.

The overall tournament vibe? Serious golf meets seriously good times.

Winning teams will take home custom trophies inspired by the iconic Palmer Umbrella, a logo synonymous with class, flair and the unmistakable Palmer legacy. It’s more than a prize — it’s a symbol of golf greatness.

And this year’s extra-special twist? Palmer’s personal clubs and bags will be on hand, available for members to use. Imagine stepping onto a Palmer-designed course with Palmer’s own tools of the trade. It’s like golf cosplay, but way cooler.
