The Landings Kicks Off Its 50th Anniversary with Family Fun Day Celebration
The Landings Company turns 50 years old in 2022, and the community is marking the anniversary with a summer full of celebration. On May 15, Family Fun Day kicked things off with a Golf Cart Parade, food trucks, games and more.
Raoul Rushin, president of The Landings Company, behind the wheel of a commemorative cart, led the parade. The 50 Suns of Sundew Road community group entertained parade watchers, and resident decorated their carts with the “50 things” theme.
The parade took a leisurely route along Landings Way South and up around Palmetto Club along Yam Gandy Rd. Afterward, party goers were treated to food and fun. The Charlie Fog Band provided the soundtrack to the day, and kids and parents alike challenged one another to a variety of lawn games.
Celebrating 50 Years
The Landings’ history dates to 1972, when developers broke ground on Skidaway Island’s first development. Today there are more than 4,000 homes within The Landings community – and thousands of great stories. Take Peggy and Bill Foster for example. Their family was one of the first to move in when the community opened. Today they celebrate The Landings’ 50th alongside their three grandchildren and six great grandchildren, who also live on the island.
The Landings Company agents are the key to so many great stories from our residents because they are instrumental in helping people buy and sell homes at The Landings. Whether you’re considering selling your home or looking to make your move to our wonderful private community in Georgia, we are ready to go the extra mile for you!
