Designing a Dream at The Landings

When Jay Massey and James Martin purchased the cottage of their dreams at The Landings, the interior was more like something of a 1980’s throwback.

But the place was situated on a nature reserve, the home was full of natural light, and the cottage sat effortlessly tucked away off a golf course. Considering the perfect site and the premier location on an island just outside of Savannah, they couldn’t dare pass it up.  

Determined, the pair ripped up the bright orange carpet and began the renovations, turning their new place into a classic and contemporary Lowcountry gem.

Now, every room looks like it came straight out of a magazine. And the interior design couple wants you to know that the perfect home doesn’t have to be lost due to a less-than-perfect interior.

As owners of Massey Martin Design, they’re excited to see a second generation of new homeowners transforming properties at The Landings.

“We just want to show people there’s so much you can do with these houses.”
