A Terrapin Point course green is flanked by two sand traps and surrounded by large oak trees in the back. Beyond the tree line lies a marsh reflecting a cotton-candy pink sunset.

Terrapin Point

Our third course, Terrapin, lies at the Southern end of the island. If you want your ball to land on the green, focus on precise ball placement. These fairways are tight. Famed designer Willard Byrd created the course for The Landings Golf & Athletic Club. It opened for play in March 1982.

Golfers playing the front nine will make their way to the southwest tip of Skidaway Island before turning back toward Palmetto Clubhouse. Holes 8 through 10 overlook the marsh, Adams Creek and Ossabaw Sound, and the entire course offers golfers incomparable views of surrounding lagoons and beautiful oaks.

Course architect Clyde Johnston gave the course a face-lift in 2004, pouring new concrete cart paths, refreshing its bunkers, irrigation system, and drainage, as well as adding a fifth set of tees.

The pin/hole of this Terrapin Point course green is nestled behind an elevated sand trap.
