What’s New at the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club in 2025

Spring is in the air and that means it’s time for the eighth annual Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club, a Korn Ferry Tour Event to tee off at Deer Creek Golf Course.

The Savannah golf championship, running from March 31 to April 6, is part of the Korn Ferry Tour schedule and draws thousands of spectators to The Landings and Savannah.

The Club Car golf tournament is a 72-hole, stroke-play competition with a total purse of $1 million. With 30 available PGA Tour cards for the following season, the Korn Ferry Tour is considered “The Path to the PGA Tour.” 

The Golf Channel will televise the championship again this year, as well. The tournament is one of only three regular-season events on the Korn Ferry Tour to be broadcast on network television.  

What’s New in 2025

While Savannah golf and the Club Car Championship are steeped in history, new and exciting improvements and attractions are percolating each year.

One new item for 2025 is a transition to digital parking passes.

Player, Caddie, VIP and Media parking are onsite at the Deer Creek Clubhouse. All players park in Lot 1 and all Caddies, VIP and Media park in Lot 2.

Public Parking is available at the UGA Skidaway Institute of Oceanography – 10 Ocean Science Circle. Parking is $5 and is donated directly to Brightside Family & Advocacy. Complimentary shuttles run every 15 minutes and will drop you off at the Main Entrance. Shuttles run Thursday – Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. until 30 minutes following play.

Another new feature for 2025 is an effort to reduce plastics:

• The tournament will remove plastic from primary food and beverage venues, including the Eagle’s Nest, Private Skyboxes, and all on-course concessions.
• The tournament will also eliminate plastic from the Clubhouse in Player/Family Dining.
• All Coca-Cola products sold or offered on the course will be in aluminum cans.

New entertainment will round out the event’s activities in 2025.

The 2025 Club Car Concert on the Range will feature multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated poprock legends Spin Doctors, with fan-favorite hits like “Two Princes” and “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong”. Singer songwriter Ryan Cabrera will open the third-year concert event to be held April 5, following the third round of tournament competition, on the Deer Creek driving range.

Players to Watch

Hughes Threlkeld is the hot golfer to watch this year. Threlkeld, a senior at the University of North Georgia and a Savannah native, was awarded an automatic qualification through exemption. He will make his Savannah Korn Ferry Tour debut in his hometown. 

“We are excited to welcome Hughes into the field for this year’s Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club,” said Brit Donahue, tournament director.  “Uplifting the Savannah community is an important mission of the tournament, and we are thrilled for Hughes to be making his Korn Ferry Tour debut.”

“I am incredibly grateful to both Club Car and the Club Car Championship for affording me this opportunity,” said Threlkeld. “To have my first Korn Ferry Tour start in my hometown is a dream come true. I’m excited to represent this community and can’t wait to tee it up at the Deer Creek Course.”

Steven Fisk won the 2024 Championship with a score of 274. The 26-year-old golfer from Atlanta attended Georgia Southern University. In 2023, David Skinns, 41, won the championship title and in 2022, T.J. Vogel took home the trophy.

The Landings Golf & Athletic Club will offer complimentary admission to all United States Armed Forces (Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, and Retirees), Veterans, and First Responders with a valid ID.
