The 2022 St. Joseph’s/Candler Savannah Challenger

The Landings Golf & Athletic Club will host the twelfth annual St. Joseph’s/Candler Savannah Challenger from April 25th to May 1st. Some of the world’s top tennis players will meet to participate in the annual St. Joseph’s/Candler Savannah Challenger. Challenger tournaments are held across the country, inviting players ranked within the top 200 in the world.

The Savannah Challenger is a USTA Men’s Pro Circuit Event and will host 36 professional singles and doubles that are recognized globally, ranging from 100-300. Many players will be seeking a wild card into the 2022 French open, generating a fantastic competition!

The Challenger series is a worldwide circuit of approximately 150 tournaments located in more than 40 countries. “Up and coming” players gain valuable experience while competing for prize money and points. The amount of points each player receives places them into a rank in order that determines if they get into the Grand Slam.

“There’s no tournament where players are more catered to and taken care of than the Savannah Challenger Tournament”, said Chris Kader, Savannah Challenger Tournament Director. “The hospitality that our members and patrons bestow upon the players, and the southern charm that we extend, is what makes this tournament so special”.

The Savannah Challenger Tournament, which brings world class tennis right here in our own backyard. It also lifts the exposure of tennis to the greater Savannah community. The Landings Golf & Athletic Club is so proud to host this wonderful event!
