The Landings Named to Top 20 Golf Communities in North America

The Landings on Skidaway Island is one of Golf Course Home Network’s Top 20 Golf Communities in North America of 2018. This year’s list celebrates Golf Communities that are creating a more inclusive community experience, stretching beyond the tee box to attract new residents with a wide variety of passions and interests.

According to Forbes, “The golf course real estate industry has been thriving in certain markets and locations, and the positive momentum has carried into 2018.” One main reason for the increase in sales volume is that golf communities are beginning to develop more non-golf related experiences, opening the door for a new generation of residents.

What distinguishes The Landings within this years’ Top 20 Golf Communities in North America is Skidaway Farms, our 2-acre community farm. Skidaway Farms is comprised of garden plots, raised beds, organic sections, a children’s garden, Audubon pavilion and a European Honey Bee-hive. Residents also have access to a support network of local farmers, educational programs, and a regular schedule of guest speakers.

Gardening enthusiasts gather at the community garden for a seminar.

At The Landings, we are proud to say that we have been leading the charge toward a more inclusive community experience since our inception. In addition to our six championship golf courses, we also offer over 100 social clubs like our Skidaway Island Boating Club and our New Neighbors Club.

“Golf will always be important,” says David Lott, Founder/Publisher of the Golf Course Home Network, “but augmenting community life to appeal to the next generation of residents is a key to success in the 21st century.”
